DDCommunity Counseling for Christian Leaders
Welcome to Desperately Dependent Community. DDCommunity exists to engage and encourage Christian leaders* to find Christ relevant to every area of life, thereby promoting effective, sustained ministries. While cultivating a community of compassionate caregivers who desire to serve the body of Christ, our ministry motivates spiritual maturity. DDCommunity operates under a Statement of Faith which derives and receives authority from DDCommunity Church, of which this ministry is an outgrowth.
The DDCommunity Counseling for Christian leaders* offers Christ-centered solutions to life’s issues and struggles in Christian ministry. Our counseling is founded upon the belief that Jesus Christ is the center of wellness and that the Bible is our authority for practice. We do not profess or adhere to any secular perspective in the field of psychotherapy or any related discipline, nor do we seek to advise anyone in the ways of these secular practices. Scripture warns us of “empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ” (Colossians 2:8 NLT). We exclusively provide faith-based advice to those who seek counsel from us.
Confidentiality
The building of trust and the maintaining of confidence is an intricate part of the helping process. Ordinarily, information about a counselee will not be given to anyone without their consent. However, there are specific exceptions to this: (1) When, in the counselor’s judgment, a counselee appears to be a danger to themself or others, (2) When a minor, handicapped, or elderly person is endangered by abuse or neglect. As mandatory reporters, we are legally required to report all incidents of child abuse to the state authorities.
As a religious, charitable organization, DDCommunity counseling confidentiality is protected by Tennessee law. T.C.A. § 24-1-206. CLERGY-PENITENT PRIVILEGE
Financial Expectations
Desperately Dependent Community operates as a 501(c)3 religious non-profit organization. Gracious financial gifts enable the ministries of DDCommunity to continue. To be accessible to all Christian leaders* we do not set a standard counseling rate but instead ask you to prayerfully consider how the Holy Spirit directs you to support our ongoing ministry. Because many ask, the fair market value for counseling averages around $120.00 per hour. You may contribute online through our website www.DDCommunity.org.
